wow...
So they've apparently decided to add some BL (boys love) elements to the Monochrome Factor anime to draw in the yaoi fangirls...and they've completely butchered Shirogane to do it. Congratulations on turning a fairly cool, interesting character into a scary pervert. Oh well, at least he wasn't my favorite. If he was I'd have cried. And I suppose that solves the mystery of the anime-original character...they wanted to add a shota element to the story. *sigh*
Let me just say that the manga has absolutely no tendencies towards BL whatsoever. So I was fairly surprised to see the direction they took...in fact I was literally beating my head by the end of the episode, but whatever...
BL elements aside, I thought the first episode was fairly good. Kengo still rocks *glomps Kengo* and Aya's pretty cool. It was great seeing everything in motion. Sometimes Akira's hair wasn't animated very well, but that's not a big deal, though it makes me wonder how the animation quality will hold up in the future. In any case I'll definitely be checking out episode 2. Hearing Shirogane teasingly plead Akira to undress him in the preview made me sigh though...
(Oh gosh I hope they don't ruin Ko too... Please don't ruin Ko! He's awesome! (My new second favorite character in the manga.) He probably won't show up for a while, but he's in the opening...the guy sitting at the bar. Luckily(?) he's made himself quite obviously heterosexual in the manga...actually TOO much so... >_<;)
